Cardax Pharmaceuticals is developing proprietary small molecule therapies for large unmet medical needs where oxidative stress and inflammation play important causative roles - including cardiovascular disease, hepatitis, macular degeneration, and many cancers.

Most anti-inflammatory drugs have significant safety and side effect issues that limit their utility. In contrast, the Company’s proprietary, synthetic, natural compound derivatives represent a novel treatment approach that offers efficacy along with an outstanding safety profile, oral bioavailability and tissue selectivity.

Utilizing Focused Drug Design (our version of "Rational Drug Development") compared to traditional high throughput screening provides an efficient, cost effective approach to discover and develop compounds with a much greater likelihood of clinical success.

The Company is focusing first, with its lead compound, on cardiovascular disease where inflammation and oxidative stress are implicated. The Company has entered into a strategic alliance with BASF for the preclinical, clinical, and commercial manufacturing of the lead compound key intermediate. The clinical path is designed to achieve value creation by demonstrating meaningful safety and efficacy as early and efficiently as possible in our clinical development.

This effort is being led by a highly experienced management and scientific team, and is supported by a world class Scientific Advisory Board.
