Cardax Pharmaceuticals is developing proprietary small molecule therapies for large unmet medical needs where oxidative stress and inflammation play important causative roles—including dyslipidemia, metabolic disease, arthritis, cardiovascular disease, hepatitis, macular degeneration, and many others.

Most anti-inflammatory drugs have significant safety and side effect issues that limit their utility. In contrast, the Company’s proprietary, synthetic, natural compound derivatives represent a novel treatment approach that offers robust efficacy combined with exceptional safety, oral bioavailability, and tissue selectivity.

Utilizing biology-driven Focused Drug Design (our version of "Rational Drug Development")—in contrast to traditional high throughput screening—provides an efficient, cost effective approach to the discovery and development of compounds with a much greater likelihood of clinical success.

The Company is focusing first, with its lead compound, on dyslipidemia and metabolic disease, and secondarily on other diseases where inflammation and oxidative stress are strongly implicated, including arthritis, cardiovascular disease, and hepatitis. The Company has entered into a strategic alliance with BASF for the preclinical, clinical, and commercial manufacturing of our lead compound, CDX-085. The clinical path is designed to achieve value creation by demonstrating meaningful safety and efficacy as early and efficiently as possible in our clinical development.
